Somerset Hills Bank was formed in 1998 by a group of local investors who believed that the banking needs of our community were not being met by the area branches of banks headquartered out of our market area or out of state. They were committed to forming a bank where locally based decision makers would be able to make prompt credit decisions and tailor products and services to meet the unique needs of the community.

On December 7, 1998 the bank officially opened for business with the following mission statement and core values guiding us:
